Yanks Roll, Mets Rocked

Yanks winMets lose.

We’ll have to keep an eye on Brad Bergesen, because he was throwing damn near invisibly through six and a third.  Alex Rodriguez stalked him to the eighth pitch in the first inning, splattering his fourth home run and sixth hit.  Barring that, and save the two walks issued before Chris Ray blew the game, Brad showed skill out there.  I’m imagining Shoe enjoying the work he put in, live from the Bronx.  That said, nice to see CC Sabathia humming along in a professional manner.  It’s been a LOOOOONNNNNGGG time since the Yanks had a horse – personally, I had started to believe they never would.  Brian Bruney was hitting 95 mph on the gun last night.  Phil Hughes versus Jeremie Guthrie tonight.

Free Ryan Church!!!  Free Ryan!!  Not even funny anymore.  Jerry Manuel is playing with fire.  Not enough can be said to that point.  Carlos Delgado has surgery and should be back by August.  In the meantime, J-Man can have the pitchers keep doing the little things like batting in runs for themselves.

Random events seem to take a poetry of their own at Citi Field, don’t they?

That all said, it sure is nice to see Juan Pierre batting leadoff – I suppose him and his speed are suddenly back in style and worthy of a starting job.  File him under, “he been done wrong.”  Him and Church.
