J-Man Loses in New, Ingenius Ways; Yanks Take The Tigers
Yanks (11-10) win. Mets (9-12) lose.
Joba Chamberlain got a tongue lashing in the dugout from Dave Eiland after he nearly walked a batter home in the third, but really, it was all Joba turning Joba around. Bases loaded, he struck out their best righty hitter, Miguel Cabrera, with his third best pitch, the curve. The bats came back from there. Hideki Matsui has turned the corner, officially. Nick Swisher has carried the team through April. Alex Rodriguez is coming back, maybe early. Melky Cabrera is awesome until he starts bunting balls off his forehead and getting hung up on the basepaths. Yanks come home for four games with the Angels, A.J. Burnett starts us off.
Jerry Manuel bats Dan Murphy third, bunts him, pinch hits for him. David Wright must no longer be David Wright, or something. Ramon Castro has a great day at the plate only to be pinch hit for in the ninth with the game on the line. Must be genius, because I don’t get it. Mets are off today, but come back Friday versus the Phillies.
