Yanks (9-6) win. Mets (6-8) lose.
Let me continue my rant from last night. The Yanks took 5 hours and 14 innings to finally put down that flea-bitten nag of a franchise, the A’s, and only because that flea-bitten nag was begging, over and over, to be killed. A bad omen is when Melky Cabrera is the savior. Thank you, Joe Girardi. We all know how many chances Tito’s Red Sox will just surrender to you to win the game. I counted three instances before extra innings and three instances after when Bob Geren unofficially handed the game over but the Yanks didn’t respond. BTW the Sox and Rays shut us out of the playoffs last year. A dose of reality: the Sox have a history of beating the Yanks with one arm tied behind their backs, all kidding aside.
John Maine stunk it up for five walks and seven hits. Casey Fossum pitched through a jam. Carlos Beltran had three hits but didn’t get ‘em dirty last night either.
The recession has officially sunk in to BBT. LB spent six hours on the couch last night, under a blankey.
